Covid-19 Procedures

Updated: June 15, 2020

Dear patients,

I am happy to report that we have reopened and are looking forward to seeing you all in person in the office.

To keep us all safe and healthy due to the ongoing concern over the Covid-19 situation, and in keeping with guidelines issued by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and the Ontario Ministry of Health, we have implemented the following procedures in the office. They sound serious because we take your health, and ours, very seriously. Rest assured however, that we are still the same friendly office as before – under all of our new PPE!

All persons entering the office must be screened

All persons entering the office – both patients and visitors – must fill out a Covid-19 screening questionnaire developed by the Ontario Ministry of Health BEFORE entering the office. This questionnaire will be emailed to you prior to your visit. It is highly recommended that patients come in alone if possible, and parents wait outside. If a parent or guardian is needed, then both the patient and parent/guardian must follow all of these procedures.

After filling in our new form

   •  When you arrive at the office you should not enter as before, as the waiting room now has very limited seating. Send a text to the following number that you have arrived, and we will let you know when to come to the door. 647-226-6199.

•  All persons entering the office MUST wear their own mask. Nobody is allowed entry without a mask, and the mask should remain in place except during dental treatment.

•  Upon entering, hand hygiene must be performed with alcohol hand sanitizer which we will provide near the front door.

•  Social distancing should be observed, keeping 2m between all people in the office.

We know that the Coronavirus is transmitted by droplets and so masking, social distancing, and hand hygiene are of the utmost importance. However, since this disease is so new, we don’t yet know if it can also be transmitted through the air.

In a dental office, procedures using the dental drill or air-water spray produce an aerosol, and we will follow the guidelines established by the RCDSO (dental college) and Ontario Ministry of Health to keep you safe.

We have installed special HEPA filter air purifier units in the office and will control the HVAC system to ensure clean air.

After your visit

After your visit, we will ask you to hand sanitize again, and to let us know if you feel ill within the next 2 weeks after your appointment.

Due to the new guidelines that we must all follow, appointments will be scheduled to allow for increased sanitization and social distancing. We will do our best to accommodate your requests for specific appointment times, and we ask you to understand that due to the current situation we need to schedule certain procedures and certain patients at specific times of the day.

Your health is our top priority

Thank you so much for your trust and support. We look forward to giving you the beautiful and confident smile that you deserve, and we want you to be able to show off that smile – from an appropriate distance of course – when you take off your mask!
